The Mudgee Museum Open Day held on Sunday 12th was a vibrant and memorable occasion, bringing together locals and visitors for a day filled with discovery, hands-on activities, and a shared appreciation of our region’s rich history.

We were thrilled to welcome such a strong turnout from the community, with many families and children joining us to explore the museum and take part in the day’s events. It was especially meaningful to have in attendance a member from the early days of the Society’s original establishment, adding a wonderful sense of connection to our past.

Throughout the day, visitors were captivated by the live excavation dig and the engaging blacksmithing display, both of which drew enthusiastic crowds. The old classroom located at the back of the church also proved to be a popular space, bustling with activity and curiosity as guests stepped back in time to experience a piece of local education history.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to the success of the day. Your enthusiasm and involvement made the event truly special, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the museum again soon.
